Empowering Every Entrepreneur: From Vision to Victory

The venture capital sector is undergoing a critical transformation, challenging the traditional confines of investment to embrace a broader, more inclusive future. One day I stumbled upon a glaring statistic that underlines this need for change: an overwhelming 80% of venture capital funding has historically been allocated to white male entrepreneurs, sidelining a diverse array of innovative minds and projects.

Equity crowdfunding platforms such as StartEngine, Wefunder, and AngelList have started to turn the tide, offering a glimpse into a more equitable distribution of funds. These platforms highlight the importance of providing opportunities based on representation, allowing a wider range of individuals to invest in and support startups.

Amidst this evolving landscape, AngelSpace by Falak Investment Hub emerges as a thoughtful example of how platforms can extend a voice to everyone. It's designed to bridge the gap between angel investors and a wide variety of startups. More than a funding platform, AngelSpace is about building a community - a place where entrepreneurs of all backgrounds can find not only financial backing through the angels but also the support, mentorship, and the resources essential for their growth provided by Falak Angels' team and Falak Investment Hub's startups perks for its community members. (Falak's Perks and Services amounting to over 700,000 SAR inclusive of key services and subscriptions all startups need).

The story of Canva's CEO, Melanie Perkins, serves as a powerful testament to what can be achieved when resilience meets opportunity.

Facing numerous rejections did not deter Melanie; instead, she used them as motivation to continue pushing forward. Her journey from facing skepticism to leading one of the most successful design platforms in the world embodies the essence of what we strive to support through AngelSpace and our SC Women in Tech program.

Since we are mentioning SC Women in Tech Saudi Accelerator Program I will leave you with this brief before going on with my article; SC Women in Tech represents a partnership between Falak Investment Hub and Standard Chartered Bank - Saudi, a leading international banking group with more than 60 branches around the world.

The program's demo day & final ceremony will be on 28th February 2024 - dedicated to uplifting and showcasing incredible achievements of nine extraordinary female entrepreneurs with pioneering startups from various sectors, including assistive tech, health tech, logistics tech and more.

It showcases our commitment to breaking down barriers for female entrepreneurs in the tech industry. As we celebrate the achievements of our second cohort, we're reminded of the power of targeted support and mentorship in leveling the playing field. The story of the amazing founder of Canva, Melanie, alongside our initiatives, underscores the critical message that innovation cannot flourish without diversity and inclusivity.

By providing platforms and programs that cater to underrepresented entrepreneurs, we are not just funding businesses; we are investing in a future where every entrepreneur has the chance to succeed, regardless of their background.

Join us as we pave the way for a more inclusive and innovative future in the venture capital ecosystem - Discover how AngelSpace and the SC Women in Tech program are making a difference in the lives of entrepreneurs and how you can be part of this transformative journey at Falak Angels and SC Women in Tech.
